Eastern Cleddau Site 2, Llys y Fran Reservoir

Llys y Fran Reservoir and Country Park are owned by Dwr Cymru - Welsh Water. The reservoir is the top of the River Syfynwy, which joins the Eastern Cleddau at Gelli.  The reservoir controls the flow of the water to supply Pembrokeshire’s domestic water needs.  The water is abstracted near Blackpool Mill.

Near Clarebeston Road, about 7 miles from Haverfordwest

Facilities

There is a visitor centre with a café, shop, toilets, trails and picnic areas and parking for more than 300 cars. This reservoir, officially opened in 1972, was designed to ensure domestic water supply was uninterrupted whilst also supplying the oil terminals and refineries at Milford Haven. The reservoir is popular for canoeing, walking, bird watching and angling.

 

Walks

It is approximately six miles around the reservoir, and the paths are clearly marked.  Shorter walks are available, and more information is available on site.
