Learning To Care

The Trust helps schools and community groups to set up and run participative events that are both informative and lots of fun - doing real conservation work while learning about the wonderful natural environment of Pembrokeshire.

We are also keen to share with others in Wales and further afield the learning resources that we develop during our educational work here in Pembrokeshire.

Habitat Matters...

Birds, insects, mammals, fishes, amphibians and reptiles - all need a healthy natural environment. That is just one reason that the wild flowers, trees and fungi, and the many physical and chemical aspects of rivers, lakes and wetlands and the land surrounding them are worth learning about - and learning to care for.

Environmental Learning In Practice

Some of our recent/current education and learning events include:

  • Contributing partners to the Young Conservationists Initiative
  • MSc research project investigating the decline in numbers of aquatic insects
  • Publicising best-practice catch-and-release techniques for salmon conservation
  • Learn-to-Fish event for young anglers from South-east Ireland
